The Weekend Wrap is back! The 2024-25 season has tipped off, let’s find out how our new-look teams got on in their first league outings.

Saturday 28th September

Encon Derbyshire Arrows 65–67 Manchester Magic D2

Manchester Magic D2 opened their season with an away win against Encon Derbyshire Arrows on Saturday evening to move to 1-0 in the NBL Division 2 North.

Magic were led by Babalola 14 points, Pearce 12 points and Margai 11 points.

Up next for Magic D2 is a home game against Myerscough on Saturday 5th October at 7:30pm, followed by a home game against Cheshire Wire on Sunday 6th October at 3:45pm in the National Cup.

Worcester Wolves 47-70 Manchester Mystics D1

Manchester Mystics D1 opened their season with an away win against Worcester Wolves on Saturday evening to move to 1-0 in the WNBL Division One.

Mystics were led by Irene Oboavwoduo 16 points, 8 rebounds, an assist and 2 steals, with support from Rehana Khalil 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals, Elizandra Costa 8 points, a rebound, an assist and 4 steals, Faith 6 points, 5 rebounds and an assist and Kizzy Spence 6 points, a rebound, an assist and a steal.

Up next for Mystics D1 is a home game against Bristol Academy Flyers on Sunday 5th October at 5:30pm.

Manchester Mystics U18 opened their season with an away win against City of Leeds on Saturday afternoon to move to 1-0 in the Premier North.
