We are a charity and have a commitment to children and young people in the communities of Greater Manchester to maximise opportunities for them to play basketball.
Having started from humble beginnings over 25 years ago we are also highly successful in elite basketball competition. In the 2022-23 season the Club fielded 16 junior teams (boys and girls), with two teams winning the National Cup, five teams qualifying for the National Final Fours and three teams winning a championship title.
The Club also operates a senior men’s team and a senior women’s team (in NBL Division 2 and 1 respectively); and men’s and women’s teams in the elite academy system (aged 16-19).

Job Title: Court & Media Coordinator
Location: Manchester Basketball Centre, Whalley Range High School, Wilbraham Road, Manchester, M16 8GW
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Court & Media Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. This position involves overseeing the court’s daily operations, ensuring cleanliness and safety, assisting and leading (when required) with media-related tasks, and providing basic first aid when necessary. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A background in sports, event management, or customer service is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Court Supervision:
Ensure smooth operation of court activities, maintaining discipline and safety during use.
Monitor court bookings and assist with scheduling, ensuring efficient use of facilities.
Enforce court rules and regulations, ensuring a fair and safe environment for participants.
2. Cleaning and Maintenance:
Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of the court area, ensuring it is ready for use at all times.
Check the condition of court equipment and report any issues for repair.
Ensure the surrounding areas are clean, including spectator seating, restrooms, and other public spaces.
3. Media Assistance:
Assist with media-related tasks such as recording events, taking photos, or managing live streaming (if applicable).
Help create and post content for social media or promotional materials as needed.
Collaborate with event organizers to capture key moments for press or internal use.
Lead on specific projects to help the promotion of the club.
4. First Aid Support:
Be prepared to administer basic first aid if an injury occurs during court activities.
Maintain a fully stocked first aid kit and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
Report any incidents or accidents to the appropriate authorities.
5. Customer Service:
Greet and assist participants, ensuring a positive experience.
Provide information to court users regarding rules, schedules, and facilities.
Handle any customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a supervisory or customer-facing role, preferably in a sports or recreational setting.
• Basic first aid certification (or willingness to complete training).
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Comfortable using media tools or software (e.g., cameras, social media platforms, etc.).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check required.
• A clear understanding of safeguarding principles, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all court users, especially children and vulnerable individuals.
• Completion of Basketball England Safeguarding Training (or willingness to complete it as part of the onboarding process).
Desirable:
• Previous experience in a similar role (court supervisor, event assistant, etc.).
• Additional qualifications in first aid, CPR, or sports safety.
• Knowledge of the relevant sports or activities hosted on the court.
Working Hours:
We have up to 20 hours per week available, primarily during evenings and weekends. Specific shift patterns will be discussed during the interview process. Due to the nature of these unsociable hours, we are looking to hire multiple candidates to ensure adequate coverage.
Salary: £12.50 per hour

We are looking for assistant coaches with a child first approach to development and learning, and a commitment to player development and continuous personal improvement.
This is a great opportunity to develop coaching skills for those new to coaching but experienced as players or newly qualified and established assistant coaches.

Volunteer Safeguarding Lead
A special opportunity has arisen for an experienced safeguarding specialist to assist in the redesign and embedding of the Club’s safeguarding function across the Club.
We are looking for a safeguarding specialist with a proven track record in child safeguarding to volunteer as a Safeguarding Lead. We are looking for someone enthusiastic about putting welfare and safeguarding at the heart of the Club with leadership skills that can help and support the processes and practices to enable this to occur.
Ideally the suitable applicant will be able to offer training focused to our Club (or be able to direct us to some high quality and individualised training). Suitable applicants will also be comfortable with adopting a highly visible role within our Club as a point of contact for safeguarding.
We are looking for an individual that can take a proactive approach and advise on the review and design (where necessary) of existing practices to enable excellent service delivery across the Club both in our national league teams and in the delivery of our community programme.
